Pressurizing units for fire-fighting lobby Passive fire protection device for the limitation
of the effects of fire

Fire protection of escape routes

The fire fighting lobbies

A firefighting lobby is a space inside buildings which is enclosed in fire resisting construction. It aims to prevent the fumes and combustion gases from invading the contiguous ambient, facilitating the evacuation of the occupants through the appropriate escape routes.

Such compartment is delimited by structures with predetermined REI fire resistance and in any case not less than 60′, adequately sealed without cracks. It must also have an overpressure of at least 0.3 mbar (30 Pa), even in emergency conditions.

An integrated system

The SVP pressurization system is a passive fire protection device which aim is to keep in overpressure, in case of fire, the fire-fighting lobby in which it is installed and therefore to limit the effects of fire and to guarantee people’s safety.

The device is designed and built according to the EN12101-6 standard.

Benefits

Smoke control is independent of the surrounding conditions, ie the natural stratification of the smoke temperatures, and the contribution of the wind that could interfere with the triggering of the thermal gradient and is difficult to predict due to its random nature.

Given the existence of an imposed pressure difference, the control of smoke propagation is less perturbable by the pressure field naturally present inside a building.

System reliability as flow rate and air pressure are measurable and the operating parameters of the system strictly defined by the legislation. The performance of pressurized systems is easily measurable and verifiable, for example in the testing phase.

Maximum safety for escape routes: reaching the minimum overpressure values (0.3 mbar) in a few seconds and keeping the values fully automatically. Guaranteed uptime of the system of 120 minutes in case of fire.

Designed to guarantee high economies of operation: continuous operation with EC motors or operation only in the event of an emergency.

Easy installation and maintenance.
